THIS SECTION IS WRITTEN PRIMARILY FOR THE BENEFIT OF SHIA IMAMI ISMAILIS.
These articles are published in random fashion and may not be connected with each other.
I will keep adding interesting topics which are mentioned in the ginans as time permits.
Some articles are not of ginans but are related about the life in general and a short story about the Pirs.

Ginan is a word derived from Gnan in Hindi literature. Gnan means knowledge. These ginans were composed by the Ismaili Pirs who were appointed by the Imam of the time and sent to India to spread Islam. The Pirs had different background and spoke Arabic, Farsi etc. So when they came to India they first of all learnt the language of the area in which they settled. Then they studied the Hindu religion and showed the Hindu people the connection of Hinduism to Islam explaining them Islam in their own language. Many Hindu people accepted Islam from the teachings of the Pirs.
The first Pir that came to India was Pir Satgur Noor (his actual name was Sayad Nuruddin Mohamed) about a thousand years ago. Later there were other Pirs namely Pir Shamsh, Pir Sadardin, Pir Hasan Kabirdin and their other family members who participated in composing the Ginans.
There are about 600-700 ginans in our possession today. Many of the ginans were distroyed or lost in the past due to the circumstances of the time. Some ginans are individual and short and some of them are very long and we call them GRANTHS. Some of the Granths are Sloko nano, Sloko moto, Anant Akhado, Kalame Mowla, Moman chetavni, Moman chetvarni etc. etc. These ginans teach you to be a good person and keep you on the path of siratul mustakim (the straight path). There are both worldly and spiritual advises in them and they are beneficial to live a balanced and happy life.
Ginans according to the firmans of Imam Sultan Mohamed Shah are the explanations of the Quran in multiple languages used in the ginans. There are about 24 languages used in composing the ginans because in India different parts of the country spoke different language. Some of the languages used in the ginans are Gugerati, Hindi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Marathi, etc. Hence it is not easy to understand all the ginans unless there are teachers to explain them.
Luckily we have had some real dedicated people who dug deep and learnt the meanings of the ginans and they have explained them to the Jamats. In my life time I have listened to the waezes of several missionaries whom I consider GIANTS in the study of Ginans and the Quran.
There is something else the reader should know about the ginans is that everyone will have the understanding of the meanings of the ginans according to his or her SPIRITUAL LEVEL. Hence the interpretation of any ginan will be based on the spiritual level of that person. It is said that Firmans of the Imam and the Ginans of the Pirs have several meanings based again on what spiritual level your SOUL EXISTS.
I am writing these small articles for the benefit of the people who cannot read the language of the ginans, for people who are very busy with other things in the world like family, business, work etc. Every article will just take a few minutes to read but you may find out things that are important for you in life.
