Kalaame Mowla
Kalaame Mowla (The words of Mowla) is written by our first Imam Mowla Ali. This is a granth which is full of advices that can help a person live a good life. To lead a life that can be honest, generous, pious, happy and many other positives that life has to offer. It will guide you through your life to be a better person. Follow the advices of Hazrat Ali who is a Manifestation of Marvels and in doing so religiously will keep you close to happiness and away from stresses and negatives of life.
This granth is written in four line stanzas or a quatrain. Many advices are offered in it like TRUTH, BROTHERHOOD OR FRIENDSHIP, JUSTICE, CHARITY, BEING MISER OR SCROOGE, STATE OF MIND, STUPIDS, IBADAT, WORLD, TOLERANCE, THANKFULNESS and many other topics that will GUIDE YOU TO LIVE A BETTER LIFE whilst you are alive and living on this earth.
After saying Bismillahir Rahmani Rahim the first stanza starts this way:
Aval zikar Allah ka, jo hai Rahim Raheman, Duyum Kalma Mohamed ka, Jo Hai deen Imaan, Siyum Kalma Mowla ka, Jo Hindi bol sunaya hai, Yeh Khazana zavahir ka hai, so Zaher kar bataya hai.
The first prayer is to Allah, who is Merciful and Compassionate,
The second Kalma is to Prophet Mohamed, who is faithful in religion,
The third Kalma is to Mowla, who has offered these words in Hindi,
This is the treasure of jewels, which is manifested and explained to you.
Now this translation is as close as can be. Mowla Ali wrote this granth in Iraq which was the place of his residence. His main language was Arabic but he has written these Kalams in Hindi. So he must know that Islam would be spreading in the Indian continent. This shows how far the visions of the imams go. These Kalams were written over a thousand years ago in Hindi which was the language used in India.
I will take another stanza from the Kalaam and discuss about it, which goes this way:
Suno bhai momino, Mowla ke kalaam ka bayaan,
Kahiya hai ke Imaan marad ka, so tu sukhan su pahechan,
Jo sukhan mine hai saacha, so hai saacha Imani,
Iman ke saach ki hai, sukhan nishani.
Listen o Momins, the sayings of the kalaam (words) of Mowla,
It is said that a person’s Imaan (faith) is known from his speech,
He who is truthful in his speech, is a true faithful one,
The speech of a person is a true sign of his Imaan (faith).
In short Hazrat Ali says to be truthful in your life. When you are dealing with people about anything, may it be in business, keeping a promise, talking to your parents or your children, dealing with a friend etc. etc. People will relate to you based on the truthfulness of your speech and behavior. It is said later in the kalaam that truth will help you get SALVATION.
I will write about other topics as time goes by. In the meantime enjoy reading, pass it on to a friend or a relative who can benefit from these articles that I am writing.
