Ginan – Sakhi Mahapad keri vaat
This ginan is related to Bandagi or Ibadat. This means Spiritual meditation. There are 13 couplets in this ginan all related to the matter of Ibadat. It’s a very deep ginan for spiritual matter. I am going to write about one couplet from this ginan which goes this way:
“Sakhi panch kosh per gaam, ke nishan dhari re - tiyan dhari surat nu dhyan, swaso mari re”.
Pir Sadardin addresses us like friend and says the town is at panch kosh. Panch means five and kosh is the word used to measure distance in the rural Gujerat (one of the States in India). One kosh is approximately 2 miles.
Keep your concentration (surat) at that point by holding your breadth. Holding the breadth and doing bandagi is not easy but could be bringing the best result. This method may need immense practice.
Spiritually the meaning is related to the human body. Every human body has five layers. First is the physical body that you can see, touch and experience it. The other bodies are unseen to the human eyes. This is the first layer of the human body.
The next is the Astral body which is ethereal, which has more spiritual particles than physical particles. Hence we cannot see it with our human eyes.
Then for the purpose of Ibadat it is good to have the knowledge of the other three levels which are more spiritual than the first two.
The third level has Mental body. This again is more spiritual that the Astral body. So you are getting deeper into the spiritual realm.
The deeper than the Mental body is the Intellectual body. God had given this Intellect as the greatest gift to mankind which can carry you into HIS abode with proper use. Again this becomes more spiritual than the Mental body.
So what happens when you do Ibadat as prescribed in our Tarikah. First of all it is extremely important to practice it every day. By the regular practice of Ibadat all your senses will become strong. Just like doing physical exercise to strengthen your body, Ibadat strengthens your senses. As your senses become stronger you will get in a state of understanding many hidden gifts that are showered upon you by the king of the spiritual world.
As you become more regular you will get more knowledge of this matter and more experiences of the spiritual life. We are said in the Firmans to remember every experience you get. This will connect innumerable dots that exist in the spiritual world which will keep on taking you deeper and deeper in the spiritual world.
In our Tarikah we are given the gift of the link which is individual SPIRITUAL RELATION between you and Noor of the Imamat. (This is absolutely voluntary). As you become better at performing this task you will experience at what spiritual level you are sitting in Bandagi. When you start understanding this you will get more pleasure out of your Bandagi and you will wait for the next morning to sit in Bandagi.
Now you must be wondering which is the FIFTH LEVEL. This is the final level of Bandagi which we call MARIFAT. When you cross the four levels successfully the Imam in his immense mercy will ENLIGHTEN YOU with HIS NOOR which is the Gateway to the NOOR OF ALLAH.
Best wishes to all light seekers.

NB:
Pir Shamsh also has mentioned about holding the breadth for more concentration in his ginan “Abdhu”. In this ginan Pir Shamsh says “Chand suraj doe roki rakho ane mun chint dharo is dandi – Sukha mana tanti vaajan laagi, ae bhed kiseja khandi abdhu”. Chand and suraj are the two nostrils of your nose. Pir says to hold your breadth and concentrate on the bone of your nose (dandi) which starts at a point between your two eyes. Sukhmana (a spiritual nerve) will activate that will give you many experiences in Ibadat. Then the Pir says that very few people know about this method. Now this might not just happen every time you follow these steps, but by being regular in Bandagi you may receive the gift occasionally.
Share with friends and families.
I hope it helps in some way.
