What is the third eye and where is it? I will discuss it in this article. Physically if you look at your face, you see 2 eyes. There is a space between these 2 eyes which is almost equal to the size of one eye. Sometimes it is referred to as the third eye. In some ginans there are mentions about this and they go as follows:
Bhamar gufa uper dekhanta…. and the third line in this quadrant mentions jaga maga jyot jalahale
The message here is that there is a cave where the storm or thunder is in progress …. and follows with sparkling light in this area. Gufa means a cave. If you feel right on the third eye and above it, you will feel the empty space which represents the cave. (A cave is an empty carved out space in the mountain). When your concentration gains power and strength you may possibly experience this storm or thunder. This space is the GATEWAY TO THE SPIRITUAL WORLD.
The other ginan says:
Utter khand mahe Shahni jyot jaage …..
Utter khand means North Pole. In our body the head is located up north. The Pir in this ginan refers to the head as North Pole and says that the light of the Imam is alive in there.
There is another ginan of Pir Samsh in which he is teaching his student whose name is Abdhu.
Chand Suraj doe roki rakho, Ane mun chint karo is dandi, Sukhmana tanti vanjan lage, Ae bhade kisej khandi Abdhu, te Jogi Juug mahe.
This means Stop your breath momentarily (Chand and Suraj are referred to as 2 nostrils), and bring your concentration on the bone of the nose (dandi), Sukhmana is a spiritual nerve, which is located in and around the third eye, will be activated and in essence will start making music, and this SECRET is known only to some.
Mowlana Hazar Imam in one Firman has said that the BOL he gives to the murids at their request is an access point in the spiritual world. This tells us that if you want an entry in the spiritual world this is the point of entry.
Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) once said that “I am the City of knowledge and Ali is its gate.” The third eye is the gate and the bol that you receive from the Imam of the time is the key to the gate.
In one ginan the Pir stresses to concentrate on the third eye and it goes like this:
Here the Pir says that the Noor of the Imam is residing in the third eye and says to aim your concentration at this point. Hazar Imam in one firman has said to concentrate hard on the Bol and set aside the worldly matter. This way it will help you to achieve a lot out of your Ibadat or Bandagi.
One more thing I would like to add here is a line from the granth (ginan) “Brahm Prakash” by Pir Shamsh. It goes like this:
“Jahan Ingla, Pingla Sukhmana Naadi, Laagi Shabd su unki tadi”
To understand this it is important to know how a person breaths. You breath with one nostril at a time. Let us say you are breathing with your left nostril. You will breath for a certain number of minutes then there is a time of changing the nostril. At this point you are breathing with 2 nostrils for a certain length of time. Then the right nostril will take over and you will start breathing with it. So during the time when you are breathing with both nostrils means you are breathing with Ingla and Pingla together. At this time your bol and concentration become one with Sukhmana Naadi which will help you enter the spiritual world and get the experience of Reality. Physical world in which we live is a PUPPET OF THE SPIRITUAL WORLD. It just takes order from the Spiritual world which is the Real World.
When you are given the bol you make a promise to the Imam of the time that you will do the Ibadat regularly at the appointed time. The regularity is important because the time of both Nostrils to breath together could be coming during 4 am and 5 am after many days. Hence the regularity of Ibadat becomes important. Also there would be other spiritual reasons to do Ibadat during the appointed time. Only the Imam of the time would know it, but will give you immense opportunity to become successful. When you are successful the Imam is extremely happy for you, plus which murid will not like the Imam to be Happy?
THE BOL IS THE KEY TO ACCESS THE GATE OF THE SPIRITUAL WORLD. FOLLOW THE IMAM’S FIRMANS AND PRACTICE BANDAGI REGULARLY AND ONE DAY WHEN HE IS HAPPY HE WILL MAKE YOU WORTHY OF RECEIVING THE GREATEST GIFT A PERSON CAN EVER GET IN THIS LIFETIME. THE SPIRITUAL DIDAR.
ONCE YOU RECEIVE THIS GIFT IT MEANS FREEDOM FROM THE BONDAGE OF TAKING PHYSICAL BODIES FOREVER.
